This is a two block, hand pressed lino print that is heavily inspired by my fascination with medieval art and characters. The art from that period, particularly from manuscripts, was so imaginative, weird and wonderful that I had to create my own. The base layer is in a gorgeous bronzey-gold so it has a warm and shimmery appearance.
Limited edition of 100.
Image measures approximately 18.75cm (diameter) Paper measures 28 x 28cm
Ink: I use Cranfield Safewash oil-based ink. This quality ink is lightfast and has a high pigment content. The colours are bright and it’s a joy to use.
Paper: Lovely 90sgm Japanese HoSho paper. This bright white paper has a smooth finish and clean cut edges. There is plenty of space around the image allowing for lots of different framing and mounting options.
Packaging: The print will be safely packaged with heavyweight backing boards and encased in a biodegradable cellophane envelope to protect it against any bumps along the way.
Due to the nature of the printing process there may be small variations from print to print. This is very much one reason why hand printed linocuts are special. Each is unique! All prints are signed by me and numbered (if a limited edition).
