A two colour, limited edition linocut printed by hand. It features the couplet-The Loving Eye and Patient Hand, Shall Work with Joy and Bless the Land which runs along the facade of the former Keswick School of Industrial Art in Cumbria and reflects the ideals celebrating the value and joy of handcrafted work over industrialised production. I had developed the idea for the image and on seeing that text while passing the building during a Lake District hike, thought the image and text worked so well together.
Limited edition of 100 Image size: 20.5 x 18cm Paper size: 29 x 26cm
Ink: I use Cranfield Safewash oil-based ink. This quality ink is lightfast and has a high pigment content. The colours are bright and it’s a joy to use.
Paper: Lovely light weight hand made mitsumata paper which has a lovely natural tone. This beautiful paper has a smooth finish, visible fibres and four deckled edges. There is plenty of space around the image allowing for lots of different framing and mounting options.
Packaging: The print will be safely packaged with heavyweight backing boards and encased in a biodegradable cellophane envelope to protect it against any bumps along the way.
Due to the nature of the printing process there may be small variations from print to print. This is very much one reason why hand printed linocuts are special. Each is unique!
All prints are signed by me and numbered (if a limited edition).
